In August of 2008, One Way Evangelistic Ministries renewed their efforts to reach  people here in the US with a Mission Trip to South Dakota on the Rosebud Reservation.  The team consisted of 9 people and included the new members to  One Way's family, The Schiro's & Danae Canfield.  Also joining us was a friend of Vic and Linda, Evie Holbrook.  She has a heart to work on an indian reservation, and so this was a great opportunity for her to get hands on experience.

We were able to use some of the same tools we use in Guyana and Trinidad---Evangecube, Puppets, Drama and Singing.  We also were able to put to use some of the new techniques the Schiro's use such as Chalk Drawing, Juggling, Magic Tricks and Storytelling through Drama.
While there, we got to experience one of the local churches outreach in the community.  This included singing, interpretive signing, drama, preaching and food shared for all who came.  The interpretive song was performed by a local Lakota Indian who was crowned Miss Indian Nation. She was a beautiful example of the rich cultural heritage that we were able to experience on this trip.
SHORT-TERM   U.S. BASED MISSIONS TRIP
Another great privilege we had was to minister to a young Lakota Family during our visit.  Damien & Wynona DeSersa along with their 6 children(oldest not pictured) came to almost all of our activities and outreaches during our time in Mission.  Damien also said he wanted to be involved in Ministry sometime in the future.
Our team was invited to share at a camp meeting in Mission.  There were several different groups that came together to share the truth of Jesus Christ through singing, drama, and meeting people's physical needs.  This was a great opportunity to reach into the community with the Gospel.  It was amazing how the conditions and opportunities were strikingly similar to sharing the Gospel in South America.
We were able to share the Gospel one on one and in a group setting.  During our part in the camp outreach, Jerry gave an invitation where several people accepted the Lord and many hearts were softened to the message of Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross for their sins.  Mission, South Dakota was reached with the message of "One Way" to get to Heaven.
